Game 2 ALDS – Twins v. Yankees

For the 5th straight playoff game, all coming against the Yankees, the Twins scored first.  And for the 11th straight playoff game the Twins lost.

Danny Valencia hit a sacrifice fly to right field to drive in Delmon Young.  The Yankees scored two runs in consecutive innings.  Orlando Hudson hit a game-tying HR is the sixth.

Then the Yankees superior confidence and dominance against the Twins kicked into gear scoring three straight runs to win 5-2.

Andy Pettite worked his magic again.  He is now 3-0 against the Twins in the playoffs.

The Twins try the one-game-at-a-time approach Saturday at 7:37 PM on TBS.  Brian Duensing faces off in the Bronx against Phil Hughes.

If Minnesota can win Saturday the scheduled matchup says Blackburn v. Sabathia, but I would imagine Gardenhire will think long and hard about starting Liriano on short rest.

Finally, Gardy got ejected from tonight’s game for arguing balls and strikes.  He seemed to lose it when Berkman hit what was the game winning double.  I was out of the room, so I’d like to know from anyone watching was he correct in being angry?  Was this just a tactic to kick his teams butt in to gear?  Tell me what you all think in the comments section below.
